The real countdown begins... 10 days till my due date of September 25. Please arrive before then little girlie! I'm so ready to meet you.
I'm excited but it all seems so dreamlike. Like it's still hard for me to really grasp the fact that I'll be a mother within the next 2 weeks or so. A tiny little baby girl... I'll be able to touch her, kiss her, and snuggle her to me skin to skin. It's unreal.
Last night I had the strangest sensation in my belly... it was like nothing I've ever felt before and so hard to explain. It was like some kind of weird tight? feeling that started right at the center near my bellybutton and it spread all over my belly - even down into my thighs a little. I don't think it was a contraction, as my Braxton Hicks usually originate in my lower back and then spread through my lower belly. This was new. It lasted about a minute - then eased off. It started up again a few minutes later. It was very easy to tell when these started too, unlike my BH which I can't ever really be sure about when they begin or end. Also my BH are usually accompanied by menstrual-like cramps, but there was no pain with these things. It happened two times then stopped. I'm wondering if Annelise might have just pushed against a nerve or something.
I also had the worst backache of my life before bed last night. Jay tried to rub my lower back some while I was brushing my teeth, but didn't really help. I always have a little lower back pain by the end of the night - just from sitting at my computer desk or from cleaning the house. Last night it was something serious.
And to top it all off, I got the shakes a little bit too in my legs. Trust me - it's NOT cold down here in Georgia. So between the horrid backache, the weird tummy sensation, and this shaking, I thought maybe it was "time". No dice. My fiance woke me up today around lunchtime and I feel pretty normal. I'm a little disappointed, but I guess my girl will come when she's good and ready. It's just so hard to wait patiently.
I've got my next OB appointment Friday morning, so maybe he'll have some encouraging news.
